Acrylic - Big Urns and Li'l Urns by Jenny Mosher
I was fascinated by the different shapes of Roman urns and also by the concept of capturing their shapes with minimal work. I found nine designs that I liked, and nine acrylic colours I liked, and proceeded to capture them on artists' canvas trading cards.
I blended gold into the backing colours and used ink to sketch the urns.
The backing board is painted with a mix of gold and cream paint. The first coat was painted vertically, the second horizontally, and so the backing board has some interesting textures to it.
The name of this piece is actually a dedication to Morecambe and Wise. For those that would remember, Eric Morecambe would often refer to Ernie Wise as 'Li'l Ern, with the short, fat hairy legs'. May they both rest in peace - they served us well.
