Watercolour - Opals - Light by Jenny Mosher
Like its companion piece, Opals - Dark, this is a work using negative space.
Created from a lesson in a magazine, I started by spreading loose, light watercolours across an A3 sheet of watercolour paper. Once that was dry, I drew adjoining circles and ellipses with a black watercolour pencil, then coloured in the gaps between the circles with the black watercolour pencil.
I then used a brush and water to blend the black pencil darken it further, adding black over that to get the required depth of black that I was after.
There is a black border around the 'opals' and then a further border of roughly 1 cm so plenty of room for matting and framing.
This artwork ships unframed across the world; please choose whether you’re in Australia or elsewhere.
