Watercolour - Turon River, Sofala - by Jenny Mosher
One summer's day we took a drive out to Sofala, west of Bathurst, to check out this old gold rush town. After lunch, we followed the Turon River out of town - it's just beautiful!
I was compelled to try to record an impression of it using watercolour - I was fascinated by the reflections in the water. However, I needed to keep it simple, otherwise I'd have been drawn into that thing of fussing over detail and I didn't want to do that. (It's hard to resist when it's in your nature, though!)
I kept a reasonably restricted palette and worked quickly, with a little dry brush over the top when everything had dried.
This work has a border of at least 1 cm all the way around, so it's suitable for matting when framing.
This artwork ships unframed across the world; please choose whether you’re in Australia or elsewhere.
